Hi Maria. I often use operant conditioning (positive and negative reinforcement) for behaviour management in lessons. For example, my learners know that if they haven't completed their homework, they will not be able to join in with the group rehearsals, instead they will have to spend time finishing their homework. This reflects negative reinforcement. Positive reinforcement is used to stimulate learners, for example by praising them or giving a specific reward. If a learner completes the set theory work before the end of the class,he/she can spend the remaining time in a studio developing practical skills.
